AENA is capable in every phase of the design and construction process including complete interior design services for any new building or renovation project. We provide these services in conjunction with our other design capabilities or as a separate service by providing commercial office, single and multifamily residential, and retail interior design.
We consider interior design as part of our integrated methodology since we believe that the approach to interiors is an extension of our holistic base building design. We try to understand how the client will use each space and develop a solution based on functionality and aesthetics. We meet frequently with our clients to review design decisions, material selections, and to discuss schedule and special lead time elements of our designs so that there is a full understanding of the project scope prior to and during construction.
As with all our projects we seek to utilize sustainable strategies in our designs if appropriate. Our designers are fully versed in the latest concepts and materials to obtain LEED certification or include energy savings measures within each interiors project.
Once the design direction has been set, our specialist engineers who are familiar with all the systems that may be needed to complete the project including security, data, telephone, and network design, integrate each of those components with our architectural, mechanical, and structural analysis, providing clients with a single design source for the project. These capabilities allow us to integrate smart building features into our projects, to take advantage of sustainable technology, and customize all systems to act together in the final design.
AENA can provide interior design services under a design-bid-build delivery model or we can also provide clients with a design-build approach if appropriate. We are experienced at providing specifications and construction documentation to bid the design to a third party contractor, and to follow-through to assure successful project completion by performing contract administration for our clients throughout the construction process and into occupancy.
As part of our interior design-build services, AENA has the ability to fabricate all millwork components such as kitchen cabinets, doors, door trim, and specialty elements, as well as any custom designed furniture. The integration of interior design with our base design services manifests itself in a complete understanding what we propose for each client. Coordination between trades is never a problem for AENA since we include trades-people in the design process from the outset, thereby avoiding trade coordination problems that cause cost and schedule overruns.
Through the utilization of our millwork fabrication and our design-build capabilities, we are able to deliver cost effective, project original designs on tight schedules. We have a close understanding of the materials we work with, the lead times for complicated components, and fabrication times. We also understand the intricacies of relocation, staging and temporary facilities if required by project circumstances or schedule.
