Urban Design for AENA means improving the urban environment and achieving certain social and economic objectives. In every project taken on by AENA we strive to improve the city by creating well designed buildings that contribute to the urban context and provide a sustainable way to live. The design of our buildings allow for a modern lifestyle while respecting the community and historic context within which the project is located. Our approach to Urban Design is to reinvigorate the existing context while providing new amenities to enjoy public and private life in the city.
We believe every building is part of the urban fabric of the city and must be thought of in this context. AENA provides design services not only for individual buildings to fit into the city’s dynamic context, but also to design and implement larger scale developments. In keeping with our integrated approach, we believe that individual buildings and their contexts inform one another. Our urban design emphasizes the impact our built environment has on the individual and fosters sustainability at all scales of building.
In addition to our private sector work we have also completed many projects for public institutions, including integrating renovations, building expansions, upgrades to public amenities, and new construction in the context of existing urban environments or in a natural context. Our integrated approach allows close coordination of landscape, building, and urban design in our project execution.
Government approval of large scale projects goes hand in hand with their design and implementation. Many of our projects have required extensive government approvals through multiple public agencies. AENA has worked with the government and other planning agencies to insure our projects are granted speedy approval. Our extensive understanding of zoning resolutions and intricate knowledge of the design and construction process allows us to work with government agencies and overcome obstacles in the planning review process.
